A Leader by Nature
Leadership is an innate part of my persona. As a LOU Ambassador and a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, I've always sought to lead by example, whether it's in the community or within professional circles. My time with the Chamber of Commerce in Oxford-Lafayette County further honed my leadership skills, equipping me with the ability to inspire and motivate those around me.
Recognition and Personal Philosophy
At my core, I am driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a desire to make a positive impact in every endeavor. Whether I'm behind the lens, in front of a computer, or leading a team, my goal remains the same: to deliver results that exceed expectations and create lasting value.
As you journey through my portfolio, I invite you to witness not just the work I've done but the passion and purpose that drive every project. Welcome to my world, where creativity meets strategy, and every challenge is an opportunity for innovation.

Leadership / Mentorship

My time in Starkville, Mississippi, was transformative, thanks to the mentorship I received. I'm deeply thankful for this opportunity that allowed me to grow professionally and personally in such a supportive community. This experience has been invaluable, and I'm eager to pass on the wisdom I've gained.
Newspaper Projects Overview

Working closely with the Winston County Journal’s team, I migrated their decades-old InDesign files into QuarkXPress, rebuilding page templates to improve white space and visual hierarchy. I standardized ad panel dimensions—creating modular ad slots that adapt to varying sizes without breaking the overall layout. The new design increased available display-ad inventory by 15%, generating more revenue opportunities for local businesses.

I rebuilt the Progress Times entire layout in QuarkXPress—redesigning the front-page masthead, standardizing headline hierarchies, and streamlining ad modules for consistency across the paper. A flexible master-page system allows editors to drop in stories each week without reworking the grid, reducing production time by 30%. Throughout the process, I collaborated with the editor to refine text flow and image captions, ensuring clarity and accuracy in every issue.

For the Plaindealer, I designed parallel print and digital templates in QuarkXPress: print-optimized CMYK pages alongside RGB-ready PDFs for email newsletters. I introduced a clean two-column news layout and a sidebar for “Around the County” briefs, plus an engaging “Photo of the Week” feature. These enhancements improved online click-through rates by 20%, as readers recognized the consistent branding across print and digital channels.
